For seven years I have been training, coaching and consulting on Scrum, Agile and lean software development practices. I have coached teams to deliver immensely successful projects in the public and private sectors and I have learned a huge amount along the way too!
Seven months ago, I started the journey to becoming a Certified Scrum Coach with the Scrum Alliance. I have been a Certified Scrum Master with the Scrum Alliance for seven years and a Certified Scrum Professional for five years. The application form is not for the faint hearted and ran to a significant 22 pages when completed. This was augmented by references from clients and an interview with the Scrum Alliance (which was the best part of the whole process!)
A few days ago I got the official word that my application has been successful, and I have now joined with only 56 other people in the world to be come a Certified Scrum Coach! It’s been a great journey getting here, but somehow I can’t help but feel that I have only just set foot on the path…
